Web Designer

POSITION: Web Designer

LOCATION: Fort Washington PA

REQUIREMENTS:
Web design experience. 4-year degree or relevant experience.

  • Competent design skills
  • Mastery of HTML/CSS with ability to code by hand
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to handle concurrent projects with multiple deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Flash and/or JavaScript would be a plus
  • Experience designing for Social Media and/or Mobile would be a plus

DUTIES:
We seek a creative, self-motivated individual to work both independently and with in-house staff to supplement both ongoing and new projects and marketing campaigns. The web designer will report to the webmaster and work as a member of the Marketing team. Responsibilities will include maintenance of existing templates, static web pages and promotional landing pages. Utilizing supplied content, he or she will also assist with projects requiring both new designs as well as improvement of existing pages.

  • Assist webmaster and print designer with site updates and promotional splash pages
  • Maintain both static and dynamic pages on multiple company brands
  • Update and enhance existing templates & designs
  • Manage multi-departmental Intranet posts and updates

The Mill: Internships

Location: London, New York, or Los Angeles

 

We are able to offer a select few talented individuals a two-month internship programme to gain invaluable experience working in our world-class digital media and visual effects environment prior to the completion of a degree course. The programme is available in London, New York and Los Angeles on presentation of a valid work permit or visa.

For a place on the programme you must be entering your final year of study at college or university in one of the following fields:

  • 3D & Animation
  • Compositing, Roto-scoping, Matte Painting, etc.
  • Digital Interactive
  • Design and Illustration
  • Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry

Our internships run throughout the year, and encompass Design, Digital Interactive, Animation, 2D, 3D, Colour Grading and Production. If successful, you will be assigned a mentor who will provide support, guidance and training and you will be given the opportunity to work on fast-paced, creatively challenging projects across all media.

Assistant Professor (tenure track) – Digital Media

Drexel University seeks applications for a full time tenure-track faculty position available in its Drexel Game Design Program, a collaborative effort between the Digital Media Program in the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design and the Computer Science Department in the College of Engineering. The start date for the anticipated position is September 1, 2013.

The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in a related field with a demonstrated body of accomplishments in game design and/or game research. Industry experience in game development and production is a plus. We are seeking candidates with backgrounds in either Digital Media or Computer Science, who have in-depth knowledge and skills in game related areas including, but not limited to, game design, game studies, mobile games and/or game production. It is expected that the successful candidate will pursue research through scholarship and/or creative works, either funded through government agencies or through industry, and will have the ability to collaborate across Drexel schools and colleges. Further responsibilities include teaching and advising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service at the college and university levels.
